Prophetstown’s total property tax rate for 2002 (payable in 2003) was $8.2768 per $100 assessed valuation. Taxes on an average home with equalized assessed value of $30,000 (appraised value: $100,000) were $2,483 (no exemptions); $2,193 (homestead or owner/occupant exemption); $2,072 (homestead/senior exemption).

Two new subdivisions featuring single family homes as well as condos are in development. A TIF (Tax Increment Finance) district created by the city in 2002 helped underwrite infrastructure development at one of those sites. |

Heidi is a licensed, full-time real estate professional and has been with the Mel Foster Co. team since 2004.
