Welcome

rural settingLocated in a rural setting, yet near two major interstates, 45 minutes east of the Quad Cities and two hours from downtown Chicago, Prophetstown offers convenient country comfort. Overlooking the Rock River, the community is known for its Norman Rockwell charm, panoramic views and abundant recreational opportunities.

Prophetstown offers strong and solvent public schools, low cost of living, clean industry, a vibrant business district and low crime rate. In fact, one-third of all recent residential transactions were made by Chicago, Aurora and Rockford buyers seeking a safer environment for their families. New residents are pleased by the varied housing options they find here: The local market offers everything from new construction to beautifully restored vintage Victorians to traditional four-square farm houses to modern, efficient ranch-style homes.

Prophetstown offers the best of small town living: tradition steeped in history, progressive city government, beautiful, well-maintained homes, strong schools and recreational opportunities. It all adds up to a quality of life that’s Practically Perfect!
